1733 Pottery Open Studio

Register Studio I // Register Studio II // Supply List
Saturday, April 1 – May 13, 6 weeks – Pre-registration Required! 
This drop in introductory level course explores various hand-building techniques in order to create both functional and decorative objects. The students create individualized projects based on their own interests from beads to buttons to plates.

1734 Drawing Fundamentals

Designed for beginners, this program will focus on learning how to see and draw perspective. Learn about the basic theory behind seeing perspective and have an opportunity to draw using that theory.

1737 Colour Theory for Beginners

Not designed for absolute beginners, but is great for those with a small amount of painting knowledge. Students will gain a deeper understanding of colour relationships, both in theory and usage.

1740 Watercolour & Ink

Learn various ways to mix watercolour and ink to create dynamic art. We will play with fine tip pens, dip quills and brush worked ink, combining these techniques with watercolour paint on a variety of different surfaces. For beginners or intermediates wanting to learn new tips and tricks.

1741 Landscape Palette Knife Painting

Students will learn how to apply the paint thick and thin, using the knife to create textures. Combined with some simple brush work, you will learn to add dimension and expressiveness to your paintings. Great class for beginner and intermediate students wanting to learn new techniques.

1747 Large Scale Painting Techniques

This course will cover some traditional and contemporary approaches to thinking large, such things as stretching canvas with the right bracing, techniques in layout, paint considerations and tool considerations. Students will create pieces on canvas larger than 18×24.

REGISTRATION POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Registrations may be completed in person, by phone, mail or online. Registrations will not be processed unless accompanied by payment in full. Register early as class sizes are limited and courses may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. All cancellations normally occur one week before the first class of the course. A full refund will be issued for classes cancelled by the Gallery. Instructors and course content may change without notice.
There will be no refunds issued when cancelling less than 10 days before the first class. Cancellations made before 10 days of the start date are subject to a 10% administration fee. Missed classes will not be refunded.

Registration and attendance are subject to the condition that the City of Kitchener, the Gallery, its directors, officers, and employees, are released from all responsibilities for injury, loss or damage, however caused, that may be sustained by any person attending a class. The student gives permission for Homer Watson House & Gallery to use photographs, video and audio of the student, taken during workshops and courses, for publicity purposes.
