18145 Introduction to Brush Calligraphy

Register Session I Online // Register Session II Online
This workshop will teach you how to create beautiful modern calligraphy in the form of brush calligraphy. Learn the art of lettering and the basic fundamentals to pick up this art form. Practice the basic strokes needed for brush calligraphy and how to put them together to form words. After this experience, you will want to be drawing letters on any and all surfaces!

18146 Urban Sketching

Register Online 
Learn how to capture your surroundings quickly and creatively in this fun, interactive workshop. Learn about portable supplies and sketchbooks and enjoy fun drills aimed to get you comfortable sketching fast in the field, or city, or coffee shop. This workshop is focussed on watercolours, but students can adapt lesson to a variety of paper based media.

18147 Mosaic Birdhouses

Register Online 
This workshop will teach students beginner techniques of mosaics from start to finish. Students will finish this two day workshop with a unique birdhouse! All materials will be supplied, however you are welcome to bring your own ceramics and thrift store plates and bowls to make your piece uniquely for you!

18148 Flower Petal Pinch Pots

Register Online 
Students will learn basic hand-building techniques to create a beautiful pot or vase. During the second week of class students will learn how to properly glaze; all pieces will be fired and available for pick up two weeks later. This class is for all skill levels! Finish projects make beautiful decorations or a gift for a loved one!

18149 Making the Most of Colour!

Over the course of a fast-paced and fun 3-hour session, we’ll get into the basics of colour harmony and colour usage, with simple exercises along the way, and plenty of time for questions! The lecture is great for beginning and intermediate level artists; for more experienced artists wanting a review; and for anyone simply fascinated by how and why we select our colours!

18150 Ceramic House Numbers

In this exciting new workshop, Meg Leslie will teach students how to create decorative and functional house numbers using porcelain. Each student will have the opportunity to create a unique design and glaze them the following class. Finish products will be 7 inches in size, all skill levels are welcome! 18151 Recycled Rag Rugs

Register Online 
Join us for a fun filled ladies night out, but this time we will be creating our own home decor! Each participant will learn how to up-cycle old t-shirt and fabrics into a personalized rug. Bring your favourite old bands tees and jeans, to learn how to make functional pieces! Snacks and wine will be provided for this social night out!

REGISTRATION POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Register early as class sizes are limited and courses may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. All cancellations normally occur one week before the first class of the course.

Registrations are accepted in person, by mail, phone or online. Full payment must accompany your registration. Post dated cheques cannot be accepted. There will be no refunds when cancelling 10 days before the first class or the event. Cancellations prior to that period will be subject to a 10% administration fee. We do not make arrangements for refunds for missed classes, events or transfers. Official receipts are issued at the time of registration. Any request made for tracing past payments/receipts will be subject to a $25.00 administration fee.

The Gallery reserves the right to cancel any class, workshop or event which does not receive sufficient enrollment. Cancellations normally occur one week prior to the start date. A full refund will be issued for classes or events cancelled by the Gallery. Instructors and content may change without notice. Registration and attendance are subject to the condition that the City of Kitchener, Homer Watson House Foundation, officers, and employees, are released from all responsibilities for injury, loss or damage, however caused, that may be sustained by any person attending a class.
