Pottery Wheel 101 with Shannon
This Beginner Wheel Throwing class provides step-by-step guidance in centering, pulling, and shaping clay. You will gain the skills and confidence using the wheel to create beautiful functional forms.
Students will learn how to throw basic shapes, then transform them during the trimming process through carving and adding attachments. Taking your artworks from start to finish on the final class – Glaze Day!

Watercolour Batik on Paper with Carol Walthers
This four-week workshop will cover creating beautiful designs on mulberry papers using wax resist batik. Patterns will be created using their own handmade “stamps” or brushes. The resulting papers will make exquisite small paintings and excellent collage material.
- Week 1 – demo and introduction to materials/ paper, painting washes on pre waxed paper
- Week 2 – students will learn to create designs for making stamps for use in wax using string glued to wood, may start applying wax
- Week 3 – students will use their own designs and borrow instructors designs to create batik
- Week 4 – students will complete their designs

Lino Block Printing Basics with Tijana
Interested in learning Lino Block Printing but not sure where to start? This introductory class will teach participants the basics on Lino printing in a beginning friendly format. Participants will work on 2 projects throughout the course, 1 small single layer design, and 1 small multi-layer design.
Participants must purchase 2 lino blocks for the course, 4″x6″ size. ALL OTHER MATIERIAL PROVIDED BY HWHG.

Imaginative Acrylic Painting with Sonder Blue
Have an idea for a painting but not sure how to turn it into a finished piece? In this 6-week acrylic painting course, participants will learn how to develop an original idea, build a strong composition, and bring it to life on a canvas.
The first 1–2 classes will focus on idea development, including finding and combining reference images, creating concept sketches, and transferring a sketch onto canvas. In weeks 3–4, participants will complete a guided Spirit Season-themed painting inspired by ideas such as atmosphere, dreams, or spiritualism, while practicing acrylic techniques and building confidence. In the final 2 classes, students will work on their own original painting idea. Participants will also be introduced to imaginative and surreal approaches to painting, including ways to combine unexpected imagery and transform reference photos into something new.
By the end of the 6 weeks, participants will have experience taking a painting from initial idea and reference gathering through sketching, composition, painting, and final details, as well as the opportunity to complete an original piece of their own. The course is beginner friendly, with instructor guidance and support throughout the process, but it is also suitable for more experienced painters who would like greater freedom to develop and work on an independent piece.

Create a Personal Venus: Figurative Sculpting with PaigeTheArtMage
An Exploration of Art History and Figurative Sculpture.
Inspired by the Palolithic Fertility Idols found in Europe that date back between 33,000 and 20,000 years ago, create your own personal totem(s) while learning an intuitive figurative sculpting method. Led by Paige Madill, her intention with this modern re-interpretation is to create sculptural fine art that can also be used as a tool to ground and connect with your body.
Paige will teach you her method of figurative sculpture making, with an emphasis on spontaneity and letting the clay help guide your hand in the making of a personalized ‘Venus Idol’. Exploring shape and form with her method of abstract representation. We will celebrate the diversity of our bodies, the changing nature of life, and the birth of creations that aim to replicate the experience of inhabiting physical forms.
You will take home beautiful sculpture, a lesson in art history, along with new skills in figurative ceramics. All with the hope of connecting your artistic practice with one’s own personal spiritual practice.

Jewellery Making with Pressed Flowers with Sonder Blue
Discover how real flowers can be transformed into beautiful wearable keepsakes. Participants will gain an introduction to flower preservation for jewelry, including how flowers can be selected, dried, pressed, and prepared for long-term use. Using preserved floral pieces prepared by the instructor, participants will learn how to design and assemble their own jewellery, such as pendants, earrings, or charms. The workshop will combine botanical inspiration with basic jewellery-making techniques, allowing each participant to create a unique floral piece to take home.

Create 3D Wearable Art with Sonder Blue
Create sculptural flowers and leaves using Shrinky dink plastic and transform them into a one-of-a-kind wearable floral piece. Participants will learn how to draw and colour botanical designs, heat and shape shrink plastic into three-dimensional forms and assemble the finished elements using wire and jewelry-making techniques. Participants will create a floral headpiece or hair accessory and can customize their colours, flower shapes, and arrangement.

Create a Charm Bracelet or Necklace with Sonder Blue
Learn the fundamentals of jewelry making while creating a personalized charm bracelet or necklace. Participants will learn how to use basic jewelry tools, properly open and close jump rings, attach clasps and findings, and create and connect simple charms. A variety of beads, charms, chains, and decorative components will be available so each participant can design a finished piece that reflects their own style. No previous jewelry-making experience is required.
