Get creative with Homer Watson House & Gallery at Canadian Celebration Day! This FREE event welcomes families and community members to experience a wide variety of fun art activities, tours of the Gallery and Museum, live music from children’s entertainer Erick Traplin and food will be available for purchase from the Subshack food truck! On this day only, you can also receive up to 15% off summer camp registrations and all memberships are $20.
Along with fun art activities, Tracey Lawko, our exhibiting artist, will be doing an educational artist talk starting at 1 pm. Join us to learn more about her artistic process and see her realistic landscapes and sculptured still- life in thread.
On Canadian Celebration Day, submerse yourself in interactive art activities that align with our children’s summer art programs. Our activities for the day will be led by four of our summer camp instructors, and include nature-themed pottery, kinder art and a large scale mural for guests to paint!
Our popular Summer Art Camps run from July 4 – September 1, Monday – Friday, 9:00 – noon and 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Extended care is provided for an additional fee. Summer Art Camps are designed for students aged 4 – 14, with select programs available for 14+ students looking to pursue art in a post- secondary education. Visual art activities include painting, drawing, pottery, photography, cartooning, animation, sculpture, print-making, mixed media and more!
