 15176 Drawing & Painting Techniques

Register Online
It’s time to draw and paint! Learn the basics of drawing realistic using lines, shapes, value, color and texture. Students will learn rendering techniques and how to stretch your artistic muscles! Build confidence and understanding as your knowledge in the realm of drawing and painting increases.
Ages 7-12 with Brett Holmes

15177 Animation & Cartooning

Students will enjoy four weeks of fun while developing their computer animation skills. Participants will study a variety of animation, drawing and claymation techniques while learning the tricks used by contemporary animators!

15178 Large Panel Painting

Registration is now closed.
Students will learn the proper techniques to work with large scale formats! 2 x 4 ft panels will give students a mural size opportunity to create big and discover and overcome the many challenges associated with this technique. This is great for portfolio development.

General Information

Visual Art Classes Ages 4-6
These camps are designed for kinder tots, pre-school and kindergarten aged children. Focus is on fun while integrating all art forms: Dramatic play, music and musical expression, early literature & visual art. Objective is to build on basic fine motor skills such as cutting, pasting, and coloring activities, color recognition, problem solving skills, and socialization development.

Visual Art Classes Aged 6-10
These fun art classes are designed for children in Grades K-4. Focus is on fun skill & concept development through the use of various media. Objective is to include the child’s experiences, abilities, interests, imagination and problem solving skills within each art activity. Children are also introduced to new and various art vocabulary.

Visual Art Classes Ages 10-14
These visual art classes are designed for children in Grades 5-9. Focus is on exploration, experimenting and the application of skills and concepts while further developing the idea of adding meaning to art. Objective is to include the child’s experience, ability, interest, imagination and problem solving skills within each art task. Children are also introduced to new and various art vocabulary.

Behaviour Management

Behaviour, actions, and language should contribute to a positive & safe environment at all times. The Gallery reserves the right to remove any child from a program permanently, without a refund. Please inform the gallery PRIOR to registering of any concerns that should be noted and shared with the instructor. Please note, all information collected is considered confidential, and protecting your child’s privacy is paramount.

A full refund will be issued for classes cancelled by the Gallery. Instructors and course content may change without notice. There will be no refunds for classes when cancelling 10 days prior to the first day of the class. Cancellations prior to that period will be subject to a 10% administration fee. Sorry, there are no refunds for missed classes or drop-outs.

Registration and attendance are subject to the condition that the City of Kitchener, the Gallery, its Directors, officers, and employees, are released from all responsibilities for injury, loss or damage, however caused, that may be sustained by any person attending a class. The student gives permission for Homer Watson House & Gallery to use photographs, video and audio of the student, taken during workshops and courses, for publicity purposes.

Registration Procedure & Policy

Registrations can be completed over the phone at 519-748-4377 or on site. Registrations will NOT be processed unless accompanied by payment in full. Homer Watson House & Gallery accepts Visa, MasterCard, cash or cheque. Cancellations normally occur one week before the first class of the course. A full refund will be issued for classes cancelled by the Gallery. Instructors and course content may change without notice.

No refunds are issued for cancellations made 10 days or less prior to the class start date. Cancellations prior to that period will be subject to a 10% administration fee.
