Homer Watson House & Gallery is proud to present the The Kitchener Waterloo Society of Artists Annual Juried Exhibition. Citizens will experience scenic views with the presence of aquatic natures, leading into abstract creations, and finally the works of encaustic paintings made by the featured artist, A.Ann Harvey.
KWSA was established over 80 years ago to foster the development of the visual arts community. The arts organization brings together people of all levels of artistic achievement, from emerging artists to professionals. This year’s exhibition, After the Imagining, will be juried by George Wale, a self employed artist and educator and the former Director of Programs for the Burlington Arts Centre until 2013.
Each year a member of KWSA is awarded a spot light for his/her achievements in Visual Arts. This year the feature artist is A. Ann Harvey, Encaustic Impression. Ann uses texture to express her ideas. While focusing on preparing her surface, she waits for the subject matter to present itself. Through this patient process, Ann often produces as many as ten different versions in many different mediums from the same origin. These pieces are filled with many unusual colours leaving the viewer with a sense of depth and wonder.
