Donation Circle

Watson Friends ($100-$499)

Celebrate Homer Watson by becoming a lifetime friend! Building upon our campaign theme, continued community involvement in the arts, Watson Friends has been established to recognize the spirit of preserving the arts and Homer Watson’s legacy in our community. As a symbol of membership, donors have their support recognized by their name being added to an honour roll of benefactors published annually on line and in the Gallery newsletter, WATSnew! Watson Friends also receive free admission to the Gallery, advanced information on Gallery.

Art Associates ($500-$999)

The Art Associate level of giving was established to honour and reflect the increasing level of commitment and support for the artists who are involved with the Gallery. This mid level category helps to ensure Gallery growth and stability and helps to ensure a better future for the arts. Members receive all of the benefits of the Watson Friends and a certificate of appreciation embossed with the Gallery Logo.

Curator’s Circle ($1000 – $9999)

The Curator’s Circle has been established in honour of the Gallery’s current and past Director/Curators. The Curator’s Circle recognizes the commitment, vision and leadership support, which members provide to the Gallery. Members receive all of the benefits of Art Associate and are invited to attend the Gallery’s annual donor reception, which celebrates the contributions of Gallery supporters, past and present.

President’s Circle ($10,000 and above)

The Presidents Circle has been created in honour of the Homer Watson House and Gallery Board of Directors. The Board is made up of professional volunteers. These people are committed to the preservation of the Homer Watson Legacy and that of the Doon School of Fine Arts. The board also helps shape our mandate; Preservation, Exhibition, Education and Enrichment. We offer members of the Presidents Circle the same outstanding benefits of the Curators circle as well as exclusive access to the Gallery. This includes waved Gallery rental fees and invitations to all events hosted by the Board of Directors. The tremendous support of our Presidents Circle helps to ensure the long-term financial success of the Gallery.

A Different Way to Give

Gifts of Stocks and Securities

Consider a donation to the Gallery of publicly traded securities (stocks, bonds, and mutual funds). Thanks to recent changes to the tax laws, if you give the securities to the Gallery, you only pay income tax on half the capital gains (37.5% rather than the 75% you would pay if you sold them) and your tax credit goes even farther! When you give securities to the Gallery, you receive a tax receipt for the full market value. The tax receipt can now be applied up to 75% of your net annual income and carried forward for up to five years. For more information on these types of gifts please contact, development@homerwatson.on.ca
