Formed in 2006, the Riverside Print Group, is composed of nine devoted printmaking enthusiasts. The group works out of a print studio attached to Design at Riverside and is situated on the scenic banks of the Grand River in a renovated silk mill. In an era of computer-generated art and computer-assisted drawing, traditional printmaking may seem a bit of an anachronism. While it is considered “work of risk”, the resulting imagery can be beautiful and inspiring. It is the group’s intention to forge new connections to viewers who they hope will identify with the products of their work. The details of this group’s shared journey will be made evident in their lecture. From classmates studying intaglio etching techniques, to colleagues working and exhibiting together, Donna and Kari will elaborate on the group’s rotating exhibitions and girl a virtual tour on March 12.
In addition to our educational and interesting lecture, we will also serve light refreshments and provide tours of Homer Watson’s former home. Please remember to bring a lunch! Admission for this event is $10.00 per person. Complimentary admission is offered to those who hold a valid membership.
