Please join us at Homer Watson House & Gallery for the October edition of our 2015 educational Lunchtime Lecture Series! Inspired by colour, texture, and the reflective qualities of interesting metal objects, Cambridge mixed media artist and jewellery designer, Barbara Di Renzo will be our speaker for the October 8th Lunchtime Lecture. Her contemporary artwork incorporates a variety of metals that she sources from local recycling plants and Habitat for Humanity. Di Renzo works as a full time artist exhibiting her artwork and jewellery in galleries across Ontario, teaching workshops and is an artist-in-residence for a number of commercial locations. She is also a member and social media manager of Uptown Gallery in Waterloo, an instructor at Homer Watson House & Gallery as well as Button Factory Arts. Her paintings have been exhibited at the Adelaide Street Gallery in Barrie, Ontario, The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), The People’s Gallery in Waterloo, and she is an artist-in-residence for the Galt Country Club and Franklin Medical Centre in Cambridge.
During her lecture, Di Renzo will be discussing the process of her work, from recycling plant to canvas and the techniques she uses to create the unique metal sculptures that complement her paintings. The event will also include a question and answer period with the talented artist.
In addition to our educational and interesting lecture, we will also serve light refreshments and provide tours of Homer Watson’s former home. Please remember to bring a lunch!
Admission for this event is $10.00 per person. Complimentary admission is offered to those who hold a valid membership.
Please call ahead to reserve your seat.
