ONLINE SUMMER CAMPS

Homer Watson House & Gallery’s Online Art Camps bring all the interaction, creativity and fun of summer camp to the safety of your home. With live, online sessions students will have the chance to discuss, ask questions and gain feedback on their work in real time. They will advance their artistic skills while gaining confidence in a variety of mediums. Including the materials, directions and videos for offline activities and next steps, young artists are sure to have a summer full of art and inspiration!
Camps run Monday-Friday with 1.5 hours of live class each day. We have morning and afternoon options, each with a unique theme so young artists can enroll in both camps if they want! All programming has been specially designed for children ages 8-12, please email programs@homerwatson.on.ca if your child is outside of these ages and interested in joining the camp.

Ages 8-12 | July 13-17, 2020 @10am

DRAWING OUR WORLD - ONLINE SUMMER CAMP

Take your drawing skills and confidence to the next level with this live, interactive online camp for children 8-12 years old.
 

This exciting program geared towards students 8-12 years old will have students understanding how to draw by taking inspirations from the world around them. Drawing is the foundation of art, influencing all other mediums of art, such as printmaking and painting. From houses and buildings to people and animals, students will learn simple steps and interesting tricks to improve their drawing skills and increase their artistic confidence.

Enjoy and create with the wonderful medium of watercolours in this live, interactive online camp for children 8-12 years old.
 

Watercolour is a wonderful and fun medium that offers versatile opportunities for young artists. In this online camp students will learn techniques and insider tricks on how to bring their watercolour art to the next level. We’ll cover brush techniques, colour theory and more as we learn to paint everything from sunsets and landscapes to people and animals.

This fun camp will have students storytelling in the most exciting form, comics! While learning valuable techniques on drawing, story development and more, students will create their own comic strips, flip books and be introduced to the world of animation.

Learn all about art and architecture from around the world in this live, interactive online camp for children 8-12 years old.
 

While physical travel might be limited, travelling through art is unrestricted. From Paris and Egypt to China and Canada, students will take a trip around the world and discover fabulous artworks and architecture throughout history in this online camp. Students will learn about the different techniques and mediums used around the world while they gain knowledge and skills to create beautiful and exciting art.

Create animals in all their forms in this live, interactive online camp for children 8-12 years old.
 

Dogs, cats, horses and more! In this fun program, students will learn tricks and techniques in both drawing and sculpting animals. Whether it be a favourite pet or exotic wild animal, students will see how to sharpen their proportions, shading, and three-dimensional understandings in mask-making and modeled animals.

The only thing better than making art with one material is making art with multiple materials. Students will learn all of the techniques and tricks to creating with a variety of combined materials while they have fun taking inspiration from their own interests.

All aboard for this high seas artistic adventure in this live, interactive online art camp for children 8-12 years old.
 

Students will head out on a high seas adventure through art. Pirates, I mean students, will join artist Scott McNichol in creating 3D models, maps, islands and medallions as they prepare for a summer favourite pirate’s game at the end of the week. This is one artistic adventure no one wants to miss!

Dragons, fairies, unicorns and more. This art camp will cover any area of interest from dungeons and dragons to anime and everything in between! Students will learn to draw proportioned human and fantasy characters along with a variety of animals and beasts.
