EXHIBITION

Intertwine

Featuring Eastwood Collegiate Institute IAP Students

January 12 – 25th, 2025

Watson, Cayley & Ferrie Galleries

Opening reception: January 12th | 2-4pm

Homer Watson House & Gallery presents Intertwine, an exhibition celebrating students from Eastwood Collegiate Institute’s Visual Arts Program.

An artist’s view of reality is coloured by their inner world. When we create art, we strive towards the merging of perception and fact, fundamentally intertwining the two. Seeking to exhibit each artist’s unique lens they approach the world through, Intertwine represents the role of art as a vessel for self-expression, using our innermost thoughts as fuel for creation.

The Senior Art class invites you to Intertwine yourself in this year’s art exhibition, and explore a realm of creative perspectives. Join us on our journey of growth and exploration as we share our accomplishments and art to your community.

The Loch Doon area was memorialized in celebrated Scottish poet, Robert Burns piece “Ye banks and braes O’ bonnie Doon”

Ye banks and braes o’ bonny Doon,
How can ye bloom sae fresh and fair?
How can ye chant, ye little birds,
And I sae weary fu’ o’ care?
Thou’lt break my heart, thou warbling bird,
That wantons thro’ the flowering thorn:
Thou minds me o’ departed joys,
Departed, never to return.

Aft hae I rov’d by bonnie Doon,
To see the rose and woodbine twine;
And ilka bird sang o’ its love,
And fondly sae did I o’ mine.
Wi’ lightsome heart I pu’d a rose,
Fu’ sweet upon its thorny tree;
And my fause lover stole my rose,
But, ah! he left the thorn wi’ me.
