  • Patrons will be respectful to both themselves and others at all times. This includes being respectful of individual differences, respect for the property owned by other patrons and Homer Watson House & Gallery.
  • Patrons will stay within the boundaries of the set activities.
  • Patrons are responsible for their actions & the consequences of their behaviour.

For additional information on our Camp Policies, please view the Parent Handbook.

Clay Projects Policy

Due to the nature of working with clay, pieces may crack or break during drying and firing. While we will do our very best to prevent this from happening, HWHG cannot guarantee that finished work will be free of issues. Breakages and glaze misfires are part of the process of working clay, even for experienced and professional potters. Each workshop is a chance to build and practice skills. If your piece cracks or breaks, we hope you will come back and try again.

Please note that there is no refund for pieces that are damaged during clay programs.

The Loch Doon area was memorialized in celebrated Scottish poet, Robert Burns piece “Ye banks and braes O’ bonnie Doon”

Ye banks and braes o’ bonny Doon,
How can ye bloom sae fresh and fair?
How can ye chant, ye little birds,
And I sae weary fu’ o’ care?
Thou’lt break my heart, thou warbling bird,
That wantons thro’ the flowering thorn:
Thou minds me o’ departed joys,
Departed, never to return.

Aft hae I rov’d by bonnie Doon,
To see the rose and woodbine twine;
And ilka bird sang o’ its love,
And fondly sae did I o’ mine.
Wi’ lightsome heart I pu’d a rose,
Fu’ sweet upon its thorny tree;
And my fause lover stole my rose,
But, ah! he left the thorn wi’ me.
