HOMER'S STAY AT HOME CAMP

As a charitable organization, we generate most of our funds from our art programs such as March Break Camps and Summer Art Camps. If you would like to DONATE we would greatly appreciate your support.

The mission of Homer Watson House & Gallery is to preserve and celebrate the legacy of Homer Watson’s creative spirit by stimulating the appreciation, enjoyment and practice of the visual arts.

APRIL ART CHALLENGE

Art is a way to express yourself, have fun and connect with others. Now more than ever we see the benefits of practicing and enjoying art. That’s why we’ve created a 30 Day Art Challenge to keep the creativity flowing during this difficult time. Each day we will be posting a new theme on Facebook & Instagram to inspire you. Whether you like to draw, paint, sculpt, photograph or do a little bit of everything, these open ended prompts are for everyone! We love to see what our community is creating so don’t forgot to tag us and use the hashtag #createfromadistance.

Visit our FACEBOOK PAGE and see what staff instructor Ralf Wall is creating each day!

VICTORIAN EASTER CARDS

Did you know that Homer Watson reached the peak of his popularity during the Victorian Period?  The Victorian period was also the time when sending greeting cards became fashionable!  The introduction of the halfpenny stamp in the 1870s made mailing cards affordable and it became common practice to send Easter cards. In typical  Victorian style, Easter cards were quite unusual and sometimes even ridiculous!  Why not download one of our templates and colour your own Easter card to send to a loved one.
